Ethical Sourcing & Supply Chain Policy

Policy Statement: EcoWonder is committed to sourcing all products and services in a manner that respects human rights, promotes fair labor, and minimizes environmental impact. We require all suppliers, partners, agents, and their subcontractors (collectively, “Suppliers”) to adhere to the principles outlined below as a condition of doing business with us.

1. 👥 Labor and Human Rights Standards

All Suppliers must respect the human rights of their workers and comply with the core conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), local laws, and regulations, whichever offers the greater protection.

  • No Child Labor: The use of child labor is strictly prohibited. The minimum age for employment shall not be less than the age of completion of compulsory schooling or 15 years, whichever is higher.
  • No Forced Labor: Employment must be freely chosen. There shall be no forced, bonded, involuntary, or trafficked labor. Suppliers must not require workers to lodge deposits or identity papers.
  • Safe and Hygienic Conditions: A safe and hygienic working environment must be provided. This includes access to clean toilet facilities, potable water, and necessary protective equipment.
  • Fair Wages and Benefits: Wages and benefits paid must meet, at a minimum, the national legal standards or industry benchmark standards, whichever is higher. Wages must be sufficient to meet basic needs.
  • Working Hours: Working hours must comply with local laws and not be excessive. Overtime must be voluntary and compensated at premium rates as required by law.
  • Non-Discrimination: There must be no discrimination in hiring, compensation, training, promotion, or termination based on race, gender, religion, political affiliation, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Freedom of Association: The right of all workers to form and join trade unions and bargain collectively must be respected.

2. 🌍 Environmental Responsibility

Suppliers are required to conduct their operations in a manner that protects the environment and minimizes their negative impact.

  • Legal Compliance: Suppliers must comply with all applicable local, national, and international environmental laws and regulations.
  • Waste and Pollution: Implement systems to minimize waste (solid, air, and water) and ensure that all discharges are managed safely and legally. Preference should be given to reducing waste at the source.
  • Resource Use: Actively work to reduce the consumption of energy and water. Prioritize the use of renewable energy and materials where feasible.
  • Chemical Management: Handle and dispose of chemicals responsibly. Suppliers must have processes to identify and manage the use of hazardous materials.
  • Sustainable Sourcing: Where applicable (e.g., for wood, paper, or agricultural products), ensure raw materials are sourced sustainably and legally, avoiding sources that contribute to deforestation or destruction of natural habitats.

3. 🤝 Business Integrity and Transparency

Suppliers must uphold the highest standards of integrity in all business dealings.

  • Anti-Corruption: Suppliers must not engage in any act of corruption, including bribery, extortion, or improper payment.
  • Documentation and Transparency: Suppliers must maintain accurate records of all business activities, including labor hours, wages, and environmental permits. They must be transparent and cooperative with any audit or inspection.
  • Subcontracting: Suppliers are responsible for ensuring that their own subcontractors and third-party labor providers also comply with all provisions of this Policy.

4. ✅ Compliance and Enforcement

  • Acceptance: By accepting a purchase order or contract from EcoWonder, the Supplier acknowledges and agrees to comply with all terms of this policy.
  • Monitoring and Audit: [Your Company Name] reserves the right to conduct announced or unannounced assessments, audits, or inspections of supplier facilities to ensure compliance with this Policy.
  • Breach and Remediation: In the event of a breach of this Policy, the Supplier must immediately take corrective action. Failure to promptly remediate a violation may result in the termination of the business relationship.
  • Grievance Mechanism: Suppliers shall establish or participate in effective grievance mechanisms to allow workers to report concerns confidentially and without fear of retaliation.
